Springer Sprint Update: our initial information was incorrect -- we actually raised over $23,000 for KSE during our first annual fun run!  Way to go, KSE family!! 12% of the amount raised went straight back to our classroom teachers: every grade level, EIP, ESOL, and Target teacher received $50 from the PTA. The fun run was a huge success.  Our kids had a BLAST and we had our most successful fundraiser to date.

 

Recess Bags: with proceeds from the fun run, we purchased recess bags for every grade level -- including our special needs pre-K class.  These heavy duty bags are filled with playground balls, jump ropes, soccer balls, cones, wiffle ball sets, and more.  We also purchased hula hoops and soccer goals!  Many thanks to Jonquil Sporting Goods, a longtime supporter of the KSE PTA, for their help in sourcing this gear.

 

New Spirit Wear & Spirit Gear: this year we are rolling out new spirit wear options.  Our grade-level shirts feature an updated design and are available in a softer cotton/poly blend AND dry-fit.  Our adult shirts are a premium ringspun cotton, with unique designs for both unisex and ladies cut fits.  In addition to shirts, we're also offering a new water bottle, an awesome Yeti-style tumbler, and a Springer bag tag.  Thanks to Nate Wilson for his donating his expertise and designing all of these items!

 

Streamlined Sales & Volunteer Pledges: our PTA membership sales, spirit wear sales, and annual volunteer pledge drive are all moving ONLINE this year.  We're trying to simplify things for our families and reduce the amount of paperwork our volunteers need to work through.  

 

New PTA Partners: we have some new friends joining our sponsorship lineup!  St. Angelo's Pizza, Newk's Eatery, and Monterrey Mexican Restaurant are all excited to support the KSE PTA this year.  Windy Hill Athletic Club has also stepped up in a HUGE way.  We are so excited to be working with these new partners!

 

Enrichment Club Offerings: based on feedback from our survey at the end of last year, we have made some changes to our Enrichment Clubs this semester.  Old favorites are returning and a few new vendors will bring different offerings.  Our kids will be able to try out all kinds of fun activities!

 

Redesigned Mother/Son and Father/Daughter Events: we're excited to change up some of our biggest events.  We'll be moving these special programs off-site, so that we can offer a new experience for our families and reduce the pressure on our volunteers.

 

Parent & Family Support: The PTA will be hosting a series of parent-education speakers.  Tentative plans are to focus on Internet Safety and Anxiety in Kids.  Details on these speakers will be forthcoming!  In addition, the PTA is committed to making sure that all of KSE's wonderful events and programs are accessible to all of our families.  We are working with our school counselors to identify ways for us to help make sure this happens.  If you need assistance, or would like to help with these efforts, please reach out to our President or to one of the counselors.
